Stamps, Ink, & Paper

Yep.  Stamps, Ink, & Paper are what we’re all about. And when you get started with paper crafting, that’s what you will want to invest in first.

When you order for the first time, buy a stamp set that you like. If it doesn’t have many greetings, consider ordering a set with words that say Thank you and Happy Birthday and maybe Get Well and Congratulations. That will cover most of your needs. You will want some card stock. I always recommend Whisper White and/or Very Vanilla and then an assortment. You can get an assortment in any of the color families or there are packs of 3 colors that go with the printed Designer Series Paper. The get a stamp pad and refill in at least one of the colors that you selected. Don’t forget envelopes. Later, you might want to add an embellishment or a punch.

I put together some Starter Kits for people who are signing up to be a demonstrator, but each Starter Kit would also make a great set of supplies for beginner stampers.

Stampin’ Up! sells quality red rubber and clear photopolymer stamps in sets. The red rubber sets come in wood-mount that include the blocks and clear-mount. I prefer clear-mount stamps because I can store more stamp sets in my tiny stamp corner.

Clear Mount

(We no longer carry the cling sheets.)

I like to keep my stamps and blocks very clean with the Microfiber Cloth. When I clean before mounting the stamps on the block, they do not fall off. Some people leave the labels off the clear-mount stamps so they cling better.  Others use temporary adhesive, as shown in the video.

You will need Clear Blocks for your clear-mount or photopolymer stamps. The catalogs now suggest the sizes you will need for each stamp set. You can probably get by with the D Block for most stamp sets, but the better the fit, the easier it is to get a good image without ink in the wrong place.

Photopolymer Stamps

Photopolymer stamp sets now come in standard clear-mount sized cases.

I recommend you use a Stampin’ Pierce Mat when using photopolymer sets.

  1. Hi Bev.. I would love your digital printout on card making and the dimensions for bases and mats. I have searched your page an cannot find it. Your YT video is amazing, I love your channel and your cards, stunning! If you could help me find or send me the details for card making, I would be forever greatful! Happy Valentine’s Day and many thanks for all the inspiration you have given me!

    • Thank you for the complements! One of the difficulties as I add more resources is to keep them easy to fine. I’ve recently found how to put a direct link to a specific page under YouTube videos. I’ll add this link to YouTube as well. Thanks for the nudge. Here is the link: Card Bases
