I think Rooted in Nature is one of my favorite stamp sets in the 2018-2019 catalog. It has all the qualities of the beloved Lovely as a Tree with the added benefits of coordinating Framelits. It’s great for masculine cards. It can be used for Christmas and really any season. I shared a similar card a while ago, but hadn’t made a video. I made it at my in-house SIP Together, so it was time to make the video.

Cake Soirée is such a beautiful stamp set and the coordinating Thinlits mean no “fussy cutting” for this card. Add a few extra score lines to the card base, add the layers in a different way, and you’ve got a fancy fold card! But it’s no more difficult than that. I love the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper too. The paper and the Pearlized Doilies add a subtle sparkle that will make any birthday happy!

I just love this card. I love the color combination. I love the Hold on to Hope Stamp Set and coordinating dies. The clean and simple card on the left is very pretty. It does not require a Big Shot and is really pretty simple. You could step up the card by cutting out the stamped images. I guess you could do a simplified version with Paper Snips, but don’t they look beautiful with the detailed die cuts? And then cutting the Flirty Flamingo layer with the Window Box die and adding the detailed cross really makes a huge difference.

I designed, wrote the instructions, and demonstrated this card before the new catalog went live. You can still make this card with current products. The printable directions call for the 2016-2018 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers, but the Flirty Flamingo marker is now part of the Brights Collections. And the ribbon I used has been discontinued, but I listed two others you could use instead.

What will you fill your jar with? I filled it with a little bouquet of yellow and coral flowers. This card stands up on its own, a fancy fold with just one extra crease. So easy! The Stamparatus saves a lot of card stock and time. I show you how in the video.

I filled my wood crate with birthday candles, candy, and red balloons, but a gift card might fit too. To be honest, I have several little wood crates on my desk holding my paper sampler, little sticky notes, and other odds and ends. I think they’re very cute! They just take a half sheet of card stock.

As an independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I went to OnStage (a convention) last month and was able to pre-order some of the small sampling of products that will be in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. I used some of those products in this card. Rooted in Nature is a bit like the beloved Lovely as a Tree. (Don’t worry! That stamp set will be in the new catalog too!) But Rooted in Nature has coordinating Framelits. There are some Thinlits in the set that do not cut, but emboss. Can you see the cluster of three leaves? I embossed with the Thinlit and then cut it out with the matching Framelit.

I’m going to an event with other local demonstrators this weekend and I’m taking this card as a swap. It was a bit of a challenge, because I’ve packed up my retiring products and I haven’t received my larger pre-order. I wanted to try one of the new In Colors, Call Me Clover, but I was not able to buy much card stock in the new colors… not nearly enough to do any large layers for 2 cards. So I decided to use Very Vanilla for most of the card. I used a tiny bit of the Call Me Clover card stock, sponged that color over a portion of the card front, and then stamped over that. I think I’m going to love this new bright green!

I don’t the links for the all the products I used, as they are not yet available to the public. You will have to wait until June 1st…. unless you want to join my team. But you can order the new In Color Stamp Pads in the new case style. And there are few bundles to sample some other products.

But there are a few items everyone can purchase now.
