Hearts Come Home Treat Tube

Here’s a quick and easy gift idea. You can hang it on the tree as a decoration. I think the Always Artichoke goes really well with cash, but a check would work too. Of course you could fill it with candy or perhaps jewelry. Click here for the free detailed directions. If you are reading …

Got Mistletoe? Tag or Ornament 12-7-13

So easy, yet so wonderful!  Yep.  It’s aluminum flashing again.  Don’t get tempted by the aluminum shingles which are just the right size.  You’ll need the roll of flashing.  The dies cut it just fine.  It works great with the embossing folders.  If you need to make hundreds of them, you may need to replace your folder eventually.  I made a couple dozen of these ornaments and my customers made them too.  My folder is just fine!

This ornament turned out great.  No, I didn’t design it.  I copied it from the catalog.  Stampin’ Up! even made a video showing how to make it.  How terrific is that?

If you need more than the video, I did print my own directions.

This project was CASE’d too.  Nope.  I don’t know who started it, but I’m glad they did.  If it was you, let me know and I’ll be happy to give you credit.  This was so incredibly easy and so fabulous, it’s hard to believe.  Buy a roll of aluminum flashing at your hardware store.  Don’t be tempted by the metal shingles even though they’re just the right size.  They’re too thick.

We made this as a special extra workshop.  It took some time, but it wasn’t difficult.  And the results were really amazing!  As a special extra we made a matching box to store this ornament.  Worth the work!

I always say every picture in every catalog is an idea to copy or to use it as a springboard.  They used to call the annual catalog the Idea Book.  I think they should bring that back.  Thanks for the idea, Stampin’ Up!

This ornament looks difficult and complicated.  It’s not.  Cut 4 or more pieces of card stock with the Lattice Die.  Fold on the diagonal, add some Baker’s Twine, and glue together.  Hang it on your tree.  Done!

Step it up with Silver Glimmer Paper, Rhinestones, or other embellishments if you like.
