I made the first box like this for my ornament from the cover of the 2012 Holiday Catalog. How perfectly glamorous! I wanted to use the Labels Collection Framelit to cut the middle of the box top, but the card stock didn’t fit through the Big Show without folding it. I decided to see what happened and I thought the results were wonderful! Love it!
We made this as a special extra workshop. It took some time, but it wasn’t difficult. And the results were really amazing! As a special extra we made a matching box to store this ornament. Worth the work!
I always say every picture in every catalog is an idea to copy or to use it as a springboard. They used to call the annual catalog the Idea Book. I think they should bring that back. Thanks for the idea, Stampin’ Up!
These treat bags were made with the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit. But I’m not really much into ghouls so we used the googlie eyes on owls we “built” with the Owl Builder Punch I think he looks much better decorating this treat bag.
Step It Up: I also suggested running the bags through the Big Shot in an embossing folder. It works great!
Need a quick hostess gift? Stamp the butterfly and cut it out with the coordinating punch. Put 3 rows of ribbon around a plain glass votive cup, and your butterfly and a candle. Done!
Re-inkers to Dye Wood Frame with MDS Insert 4-14-12
Keep track of cards you need to make with this project. Punch circles from card stock and write names & birthdays to hang on one hook. Move them to the next hook when the card is done. Blank pieces are on hand on the 3rd hook. At the end of the year, birthday pieces go back on the hook so you don’t forget to send those cards. Pieces for baby or wedding shower cards can go back on for anniversary or birthday cards. Consider doing the same with sympathy cards for “Thinking of you” cards.
I bought inexpensive frames from the local craft store. Mix refill ink with water or alcohol to stain the wood. The insert was made with My Digital Studio. You could also use “real” embellishments.
We used nails, but i would use small hooks next time so the pieces don’t fall off so easily.
I think I should have put this book mark on a plain covered book so you could see how pretty the book mark is. The book mark itself is a ribbon that wraps around the page you’re on and to the front of the book. An elastic hair band holds it snug with the help of a button. We embellished it with clustered flowers.
It was so pretty I was tempted to leave my Kindle App and go back to cellulose books!
