Christmas Card Planning

It’s November 10th, as I post this. It’s not too late to make Christmas cards, but you need to get started now. I’ve made a video with some thoughts on planning cards and I’ve created a chart with some rough estimates for the supplies you may need, depending on your design. You’ll also find a card I designed to be quick and thrifty.

Here’s that card I mentioned. It’s a very simple “fancy fold” to make it a bit more interesting. Feel free to swap out the Designer Series Paper, ribbon, greeting. Use a different punch or die for the tag.

Click here for the detailed directions. If you make 48 cards just like this, order the stamp set or use a greeting you already own, the ink, and the punch. You can use these again and again. Order one of each of the consumables except the envelopes. You’ll need 2 packs of envelopes for 48 cards, but you’ll have a lot left over.

I used the regular Basic White card stock, but if you want the Thick Basic White, you’ll need an extra pack. If you prefer the knot (around the C Block I did with the Black & White Plaid ribbon) or an “Air Bow” (like I did with the gold ribbon), you’ll need 2 spools of ribbon.

The consumables come to $57.50, or $1.20 per card.

Happy Gnome

Love this happy gnome, wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! You can’t see it in this still image, but his feet swing back and forth in a fun little dance. This card is really fun and fairly quick to put together. You can make this card with products from my store at Stampin’ Up!

Eclectic Garden

Here’s a quick and easy card. I did you the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine for the Rich Razzleberry layer, but you could just leave it flat. I also used the Banners Pick-a-Punch to flag the greetings piece, but you could certainly just use scissors to cut that. (Handy tip when flagging layering pieces: Stack the layers and keep the end you want to flag even. Cut them both at the same time. Then when you slide the top layer over, the flagged ends will be exactly the same.) It’s not exactly “Simple Stamping” because there are layers and embellishments, but I’m sure you can make this card with products from my shop at Stampin’ Up!

Hello Harvest

September Thank You Cards

I send thank you cards to my customers for their orders. I used this same card for birthday cards and cards for my team. There are some cards I make that I am unsure of, and there are others that make me just make me happy. This was one of those happy cards.

When I send thank you cards for orders, I include a Frequent Shopper chart. For every $50 spent on products, they can fill in one square. They earn $45 of products when all nine squares are filled. This can be a $45 savings on a large order or just $45 worth of products by themselves. This deal is just from me, so to cash in the reward, I need to place the order so I can pay my portion.

I was so sad last week! Someone ordered from me, but they did not check the box allowing Stampin’ Up! to share their contact information. I promise I will not send out lots of spam! I send thank you cards for orders and I send catalogs to people who have shopped with me in the previous year.
