I love organization! It is my way to cope with being a naturally disorganized and easily distracted person.  When I was a teen, I was the only one who could walk through my room because I knew the safe paths through the stuff on the floor.  Little by little I’ve retrained myself and I’m pretty organized now.  I love finding easy ways to get organized!  Now you can drop in any time and I won’t be too embarrassed. My desk area is usually still pretty messy when I’m in the middle of crafting, but I can put everything away fairly quickly. Most everything has a place.  Notice that the title of this page is not Organized. I’m still getting there.

I’ve moved from my Craft Corner to a Craft Wall.

Excel Spreadsheet

I have an Excel spreadsheet with a list of all the Current Products including with January-August 2024.  I use it to keep track of things I want, things I have, and things I need to demonstrate. There is a sheet titled Instructions that lists more ways to use it. It will even total up my order and Host Rewards for US orders! Here’s a link to my Techy Tips on how I use it. If you spot an error, please email me so I can fix it!

I also use that spreadsheet when making my Project Planners. I have a Word Document with a table that matched the first columns of the spreadsheet. I can just copy the first 5 cells of a product and paste it into the Project Planner. Here is the Word document, if it’s helpful to you.

23-24 Project Planners to share

I use my laptop to blog, of course!  I also use Pinterest and Stampin’ Connection (a site just for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators) for inspiration.  And I use Evernote to keep track of all my products and to find exactly what I’m looking for! Evernote is a free app and I share my notebook for a nominal fee. Find out how you can share it.

  1. What a wonderful thing I have tumbled on to! Thank you! I have a question about your 12 x 12 DSP – what are your pouches made of or bought from? Do you have a picture you could send me? That is where I am stumped in my organization. . . . . well one of the areas LOL. I want to keep all of one pack of DSP together with the coordinating color info in one package, but have yet to find any Ziplock bags etc, that they would fit into with out having lots of extra plastic (I currently use the 2-1/2 gallon bags – and cannot fit them into my storage boxes). Again, kudos to you on your organizational skills! I often say I am CDO (OCD so much that I have to put the acronym into alphabetical order. 🙂

    • Ziplock makes a 2-gallon freezer bag that holds the 12×12 DSP really well. There’s a white spot on the bag to write the name of the DSP, the catalog & the year.

      • I don’t think I’ve seen their 2 Gallon size. I do very much like my Heavy Duty Recloseable Bags though. I’ll stick with them.

    • I’m not sure which insert you’re talking about. I’ll assume you don’t want the little paper slip and that you want to put an “old” set in one of our stamp cases and have a matching insert. I have offered a black inserts on my Getting Organized page.

Just go to the insert size you want. Click on the link and you should get a download of a blank case insert. Be sure to print it full size. Then stamp the images from your set and write in the name of the set.

  4. Hi Bev- I’ve been looking at some of your videos and am really impressed. I’ve just been Stampin’ Up for a few years and thought that I was being very clever last year when I decided to have my catalog spiral bound. Then I found out that I wasn’t being original. LOL But I did it again with this new one and will continue to do so with each new one. Right now, I am using sticky notes for tabs, but love your tab ideas better. I am also impressed with how organized you are with such a small space when I have a WHOLE ROOM and am not as organized as you. I am trying, tho, and your videos have given me some more ideas. I can really lose myself in all the helpful videos such as yours and others, and Pinterest, of course, that I don’t get a lot done sometimes. It’s very addicting! Wait- is there a support group for that? Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your ideas. Thank you.

    • Thank you, Peggy. I’m very new at making videos, so your kind words are very encouraging.

I think you will like the tabs for your catalog.

I consciously chose to move my craft area to the living room, and that means I need to be able to make it presentable without a lot of work. And I do understand the need for a support group for Pinterest and YouTube addiction. I became a demonstrator to support my habit. 🙂

Would love to get your invite to Evernote.

    Thanks again. Happy crafting.

  6. Bev, I love all your organizing ideas! I really like your excel spreadsheet with all the products. But, I’m not super at using excel – any chance you’d like to make a video on how you use excel?

  7. Bev, I just tried opening your spreadsheet. McAfee won’t allow it – says it has a virus or spyware on it. Are you aware of this? Could you scan yours to see and reply to me? Thanks, Denise

  8. Bev, I’ve had so much fun watching your fantastic organizational videos! Thanks for sharing, but you’ve always been a sharer. I’ve just read all the comments after your organizational section, and had great fun reading all the positive comments. I finally understand how you have described the labeling of your pads. Good video as always. Thanks Bev.

    • I bought my 12″ x 12″ envelopes from Stampin’ Up!, but unfortunately we don’t sell them any longer. I bought them at Michael’s, but I’m not sure they carry them any longer either. I did recently see something similar at Hobby Lobby. I wish I could find a good online source and just link to them here. If you or anyone else finds one, please let me know!

  9. Thanks for generously sharing the fruit of your organisational efforts. I am in Australia and unfortunately some of our stuff is different eg prices and our card is metric. I am a bit challenged with technology. Is it possible for me to change your files to reflect our info?

    Reply
    • My files for download are PDFs which cannot be changed. However, I have been working on making my files useful in all markets. You could help me. If you are a demonstrator, could you email a link to you Holiday catalog? If you are not a demonstrator, could you ask the demonstrator you shop with to send it to me? I have realized that the pages and most names are the same everywhere. The biggest variation is price, but you’re right about the metric sizes.

From now on I will be removing the prices on all my files. To change the existing files means I will have to recreate them. I will probably do that as I prepare the files for the Holiday 2015 catalog. If you don’t want to wait for that, perhaps you can just white out the prices. Subscribe to my website and I will send an update when those files are available.

      • Hi Bev

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am a demonstrator and will send you a link to the holiday catty. I wasn’t asking you to change the files, just whether it was possible for me to. You are very generous to rework your tools to apply to other markets.

        Thanks again, Annette

  11. BTW, besides the Stamp Case Inserts, I have just used your tabs for organizing my catalog, the 1/2 inch circle punch color chart and printed out the sponge dauber insert! I don’t know if you saw my very first post to you but it said, “Where have you been all my life?” or maybe just the past 3 years as a SU Demonstrator! LOL

    • 🙂 I’ve been here since February 2014. I came home from the 2013 convention determined to start a “Dot Com” and it took me a few months to figure out how to get WordPress to do what I wanted it to do. Before that I posted my labels, etc. on Stampin’ Connection. It has been so much easier for me to post them here. I’m glad you found me! And welcome to the Stampin’ Up! family.

  12. I appreciate your generosity so much in sharing this site and all your work with us for FREE! You are wonderful. I think I love organizing more than stamping. I have had the best time organizing my dies with pictures on front of their envelopes from your die pictures. This has also made me see all the dies I have to purchase! I am going to have to get another job! I will be ordering some stamps set from you soon that I have never seen before. Again, Thank you so very much. I am truly amazed by all your work and organizational ideas.

I have wanted for what seems so long to be more organized with all my supplies, and I have made a stab at it, but now I can do so much more. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Blessings,

I was wondering if there is information on the SAB 2020 catalog. I am sure there must be, but I can’t seem to find it. Could you possible let me know if there is info on the SAB? Your organizational hard work has save me countless hours in attempting to get my stamp room in order. Thank you so much. Blessings,

Question on the Evernote program – I’m entering my current sets, is there a quicker way to do this than typing everything individually? OR do I just call need to keep plugging away at at. Appreciate any help you can give me.

    • Are you entering sets that can be purchased right now? If so, I have already entered every current product as a note. I share my notebook. So all you have to do is make a small contribution here and I’ll send the link to share it. Then you just need to copy my notes to your notebook.

  16. Hi Bev:

Thank you so much for all the hard work you have done and shared. It has kept me organized and I am now trying to catch up

I was looking for inserts for the Botanical Prints Dies and the Tropical Oasis Memories & More. I also do not see the insert for an oldie – Seasonal Layers. Some times I tend to miss them

    Thanks for what you do!!

    Reply
    • I’m so glad you are able to use my resources! First of all, I didn’t make an insert for the Tropical Oasis Memories & More Cards, but I just made one and posted it.

As for the Botanical Prints Dies, I don’t see a product with that exact name. Do you mean Botanical Tags Dies? If so, it’s there.

I organize the list in a way that might make it hard to find things. I have to alphabetize the files manually, so I add each new batch together. So today, May 12, 2020, you’ll find the Ornate Garden Suite products at the top, then the January-June Mini Catalog, Holiday 2019, the 2019-2020 annual catalog, then some random things, and finally all the retired products which I do take the time to alphabetize.

You’ll find the Botanical Tags and Seasonal Layers Dies inserts in the group for the annual catalog, as they’re both in the current annual catalog. I added the Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack insert with the January-June group.

  17. HI Bev:

Thanks for your reply. Your organization is great. I usually can find everything even if it takes a try or two.

The product # for Botanical Prints is 152457. It’s part of the Botanical Prints Product Medley and it’s retiring.

There was also a die with the Most Wonderful Time medley during the holiday catalog and it also came with dies. It was product #151271

    Reply
    • Ah. I see. I haven’t made inserts for the products in the medleys. I don’t have a way of adding an image for the dies. I believe the individual item numbers are really for internal use by Stampin’ Up! If I made one, would you like an insert for the whole product medley and that item number? Would it be for a standard case or a wide case?

      Reply
  18. Thanks for the your effort Bev.

Since I make my own inserts using what Stamp Up provides for the vintage Stampin Up stamps sets I have bought at Goodwill etc. I’ll just use Photoshop to copy and crop the dies off the pic on their website.

I may have to scan the the Most Wonderful Time dies and do the same.

    Reply
    • I think making inserts for the medleys makes sense. I have not yet purchased a medley and never thought to make separate case inserts for the parts. Perhaps I just need to make multiple case inserts using the same image, but label the spines and tops differently. Can you please tell me if the stamps come in a case or do they come loose like in Paper Pumpkin?

      Reply
    • I just posted case inserts, one for the dies and one for the embellishments. It’s 2 pages but one file name. I don’t think the ribbon will fit in, but the overlays, die cuts, and bee embellishments should fit. Let me know if this is what you had in mind.

  19. Hi Bev,Hope this finds you safe and well. Thank you so much for all that you do to help all of us with your organization. I love using the case inserts. I am working hard to get better organized.
I wanted to ask since I do not see them on your website, if you still would have on line anywhere the following case inserts:
2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks    SU item# 138432
2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack       SU item# 141408
Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack-Regal Collection  SU # 117154

I just found these 12 x 12 collections in the back of my closet.
I figured if anyone had these, you would be the person to ask.
As soon as I get settled with my health and puppy’s health, I want to join your Evernote group. I do not know a thing about Evernote but am willing to learn. Just got to get our pup well and I recently had both knees replaced at one time, so I am doing great but still on the mend. We found out yesterday from an MRI that he has meningitis. I was shocked. I never knew dogs could get that. And we will never know how.  All of his labs were sent to Infectious Disease Veterinarians for them to confirm this is what he has or what type of disease it is. We thought maybe he had a disc issue in his back. He is a Dachshund pup. Bless his heart yesterday he had the MRI, Spinal Tap and blood work. He is shaved all over the place but today he is almost his spunky self. He is on a regimen of antibiotics and pain meds. We have had Doxies for years and never had this with any of them. WE were told yesterday that this might be hereditary or genetic.
Thanks so much for your help. You are such a blessing to me and many others.
Stay safe and well and have a nice evening,
    Michele

    • I do not have the case inserts for those papers. It’s only recently that I’ve been making inserts for DSP that didn’t fit in the cases without cutting them. I do have the blank case inserts that you would write on and maybe glue paper samples.

I’m so sorry to read about your new puppy’s illness! I know Doxies are prone to back problems, but had no idea that included meningitis! And all that running around to nurse him with your new knees! Hugs to you!!!

I look forward to you joining the Evernote notebook. I’ll be happy to help you if you need it!

      You stay well too.

  21. Bev, I just found you online. I was looking for case inserts for the DSP I have. I found them! Well, almost. I couldn’t find inserts for Be Dazzling 6×6 paper, Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes, and Pool Party and Sea Foam Cards and Envelopes. I really looked at your lists and missed them if they are there. Thank you for all you time in preparing all these organizing inserts.

    • You’ll find the Be Dazzling DSP insert in the retired products section alphabetically under B.The Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes insert is in the top section for the 2022-2023 products. The only one that was missing was the Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam cards & envelopes. I’ve just added that insert. You’ll find that with the Sale-a-Bration inserts.

    • Some embellishments I store in stamp cases, but I just don’t have enough shelf space to store them all that way. I do make the cases for people that have the space. I personally store ribbon and the embellishments that come in a little tub in a drawer. I’ve made a box out of cardboard for them. Last year I started storing my adhesive-backed accents in Passport Pouches. I create and share 1″ x 2 5/8″ Address Labels that come 30 on each sheet to stick on some thin cardboard from DSP. You’ll see them listed as 8160 Address Labels for Adhesive Shapes.
