This project was CASE’d too.  Nope.  I don’t know who started it, but I’m glad they did.  If it was you, let me know and I’ll be happy to give you credit.  This was so incredibly easy and so fabulous, it’s hard to believe.  Buy a roll of aluminum flashing at your hardware store.  Don’t be tempted by the metal shingles even though they’re just the right size.  They’re too thick.

This was certainly not my original design but I’ve seen it so many places that I couldn’t begin to identify the person to credit for it.  I know why it’s so popular though.  It’s so easy and so very cute!  Great for neighbors, kids’ classmates, or co-workers.  Merry Christmas!

I made the first box like this for my ornament from the cover of the 2012 Holiday Catalog.  How perfectly glamorous!  I wanted to use the Labels Collection Framelit to cut the middle of the box top, but the card stock didn’t fit through the Big Show without folding it.  I decided to see what happened and I thought the results were wonderful!  Love it!

Waterfall Card 11-10-12

Waterfall CardThis card doesn’t show well in a still shot.  It really needs a video.  When you pull the ribbon flaps flip over, one by one.  There is a tree on each panel and each tree is a little more decorated.  I’d seen the technique and was eager to try it.  Worked great!

I love this embossing folder!  It’s definitely great with Core-dinations card stock and it’s great for Christmas cards.  If you look carefully there is a tree and a bell in the raised pattern.  But done in different colors and perhaps an embellishment over those elements, it works great for other events and themes too.  I’ve got my fingers crossed that Stampin’ Up! brings this back, or at least something like it.

We made this as a special extra workshop.  It took some time, but it wasn’t difficult.  And the results were really amazing!  As a special extra we made a matching box to store this ornament.  Worth the work!

I always say every picture in every catalog is an idea to copy or to use it as a springboard.  They used to call the annual catalog the Idea Book.  I think they should bring that back.  Thanks for the idea, Stampin’ Up!
