Layering Leaves

Did you know that the Layering Leaves stamp set coordinated perfectly with the Bough Punch? I used them together for this card. I used the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper for my color inspiration, basically CASEing it. The big card at the top is the one I made on my video. The second card has the same look, but I didn’t use the Nested Essentials Dies for the window and frame. I just cut out a rectangle of card stock. For the third variation I used the Designer Series Paper and then just stamped the leaf instead of punching it out. It does have layers, but it really is #simplestamping!

You’ll want to order these products from my online store at Stampin’ Up! I added the Designer Series Paper to the list, but I did not use it for the first card. If you’re making the third card, you only need the stamp set, Lost Lagoon ink pad, the card stock, Designer Series Paper, and envelopes. Wild & Sweet

I am so glad the Wild & Sweet stamp set didn’t retire! The Evening Evergreen card stock, ink, and ribbon have retired and Forever Fern that I used for the background is also retired, but you could easily make this card and substitute another color and leaf stamps. I’m suggesting Inked & Tiled for the leaves and Pecan Pie instead of the Evening Evergreen and even the Early Espresso ink. The gorgeous new Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon would  be perfect! The card was fairly quick and easy to make and it seems to appeal to lots of different people.

“Simple Stamping” is usually without any layers or embellishments, but you can totally make this card!

Decorative Borders

I think this card is so elegant, but it’s also very quick and easy! I used Watercolor Pencil and just one ink pad. The “Last Chance Products” list just came out and I’m sorry to say the Decorative Borders stamp set is on that list. Grab it fast before it’s gone! Thankfully, everything else will still be available in the new catalog that launches May 2, 2023. Phew!

You do not need any fancy tools for this card. You can do it!

Christmas Card Planning

It’s November 10th, as I post this. It’s not too late to make Christmas cards, but you need to get started now. I’ve made a video with some thoughts on planning cards and I’ve created a chart with some rough estimates for the supplies you may need, depending on your design. You’ll also find a card I designed to be quick and thrifty.

Here’s that card I mentioned. It’s a very simple “fancy fold” to make it a bit more interesting. Feel free to swap out the Designer Series Paper, ribbon, greeting. Use a different punch or die for the tag.

Click here for the detailed directions. If you make 48 cards just like this, order the stamp set or use a greeting you already own, the ink, and the punch. You can use these again and again. Order one of each of the consumables except the envelopes. You’ll need 2 packs of envelopes for 48 cards, but you’ll have a lot left over.

I used the regular Basic White card stock, but if you want the Thick Basic White, you’ll need an extra pack. If you prefer the knot (around the C Block I did with the Black & White Plaid ribbon) or an “Air Bow” (like I did with the gold ribbon), you’ll need 2 spools of ribbon.

The consumables come to $57.50, or $1.20 per card.
