Quick Card with Nature’s Prints

My last post showed a quick card with Marvelous Nature. I received some great feedback from that very quick card. I thought I’d show more quick cards with the same layout.

The secret? Pick a stamp set that has kind of a large image that has some detail. Avoid cards with “line art.” What’s line art? Think coloring books. The images are outlines with just a few details. They look great when they are colored, but coloring takes time. Let the stamp do the work for you!

You’ll find that Nature’s Prints has a great large image of a fern leaf. The layout is exactly the same as the blue one with Marvelous Nature but a different stamp set and Granny Apple Green card stock and ink. This is simple stamping!

Quick Card with Marvelous Nature

Need a quick card? Please consider the Marvelous Nature stamp set and this layout! My friend Karen and I make cards for people in our church that may need a little extra encouragement. We usually make about 28 cards and it usually takes us a few hours. The day we made this card our time was even more limited, so I planned this quick card. We were both shocked how quickly we got done with these cards!

And you may have noticed I haven’t added any posts or videos the last couple of weeks. I caught Covid about a month ago. I had to cancel my monthly SIP Together class. Even now,I’m finding I need a long nap most days and it’s hard to keep up, much less catch up. I did manage to upload a couple of videos I’d already recorded. So this week I decided to make a video of this card. We all need to have a quick card plan up our sleeves now and then!

Christmas Card Planning

It’s November 10th, as I post this. It’s not too late to make Christmas cards, but you need to get started now. I’ve made a video with some thoughts on planning cards and I’ve created a chart with some rough estimates for the supplies you may need, depending on your design. You’ll also find a card I designed to be quick and thrifty.

Here’s that card I mentioned. It’s a very simple “fancy fold” to make it a bit more interesting. Feel free to swap out the Designer Series Paper, ribbon, greeting. Use a different punch or die for the tag.

Click here for the detailed directions. If you make 48 cards just like this, order the stamp set or use a greeting you already own, the ink, and the punch. You can use these again and again. Order one of each of the consumables except the envelopes. You’ll need 2 packs of envelopes for 48 cards, but you’ll have a lot left over.

I used the regular Basic White card stock, but if you want the Thick Basic White, you’ll need an extra pack. If you prefer the knot (around the C Block I did with the Black & White Plaid ribbon) or an “Air Bow” (like I did with the gold ribbon), you’ll need 2 spools of ribbon.

The consumables come to $57.50, or $1.20 per card.
