This box coordinates with the long envelope and card I shared in last week’s post. Yes, for those of you who are keeping track, this is a different box than the one from the one I talked about last week. I decided I really needed to redo the video and I was all out of Soft Suede 12″ x 12″ card stock. So I made the box a bit shorter, requiring just 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock. That I had in all the colors, so I went with the Tranquil Tide to match the card better.

Yes, the Envelope Punch Board not only makes custom envelopes, it also makes boxes. They’re really made about the same way. You just need to add to the Paper Size and slide the paper over the same amount to make a second score line on each side. But what you add is actually on the diagonal. I’m good at math, but it was easier for me to actually make a bunch of boxes and measure.
So that’s what I did. I started with the smallest size envelope, added 1/4″ to the given Paper Size measurement, and then after the first punch, I slid the card stock over 1/4″ one each side to make a box. I made the next box the same way, but added another 1/4″. I kept going until the paper size got to 12″ x 12″. I measured each box to keep track of how much to add for the desired height.
But even I had trouble using that chart since I started with how much to add, not how high the box would be. When Margie V. asked for a cheat sheet for the Envelope Punch Board like I had done for the Gift Bag Punch Board Directions, I decided it was time to redo the chart.
