I have several teen boys in my life and I always seem to find I need to turn up my creativity to make cards for them. Most (but not all) paper crafters are women and I’m sure sales would reflect that we tend to buy stamp sets we like. Stampin’ Up! does sell stamp sets that are good for the men in our lives. But often those aren’t good for the teens in my life. This time, I let my friend and Stampin’ Up! Artisan, Tammy Wilson, do the heavy lifting for card design.Of course, though I planned this card for a teen, you could certainly use it for an adult man or woman. Tammy challenged a group I’m in to make our own version of a card she designed. Here’s Tammy’s card and the link for more information about her card. You may need to look closely to see that I followed her design. I changed the wedding card to a birthday card and I changed the colors. I also changed the stamp sets. I used the cake from Celebrate with Cake that’s in the little New Stamper catalog. I searched my Evernote notebook for a stamp with just “happy.” I would have never thought of looking in Merry Christmas to All, but there was the exact stamp I wanted! Finally, Tammy often uses lots of embossed layers. I did emboss the one layer, but I decided to substitute a layer of Designer Series Paper. But again, I went to my Evernote notebook to find one that might work. I have so many flowery designs. Again, I was surprised when I found one in the feminine romantic set of papers in Woven Threads! And just to drive home the message, I used the Well Written Dies for the “birthday” die cut.Click here for my free detailed directions and watch the video below.Click the individual products you need or the “Add All to the Cart” button.
