I am so proud to be a guest designer at Craft Project Central (CPC) this month! One of the things they do over there is have a “sketch challenge” they call Creating Pretty Cards (also CPC). A sketch challenge is a basic drawing that you can use as inspiration. It’s pretty fun to see all the different creations! I’ve never participated before, but I found it quite fun.
I decided to combine my Getting Started challenge with the CPC challenge.
The CPC challenge card uses 3″ x 12″ card stock to make a 3″ x 6″ card. Since I only have 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock in my challenge supplies, I made my card out of 3″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ to make a 3″ x 5 1/2″ card.
In a sketch challenge, the basic elements are just a “jumping off” point. You can use any stamp set and any color and you can tweak the elements a bit too. I used the same tall skinny card, 3″ wide. I included the narrow border around the first layer, the hexagon design in Hello Honey from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. I switched out the smaller layer with a tag from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit and cut a smaller layer in Whisper White card stock. I tied some Baker’s Twine at the top of the tag instead of ribbon at the bottom. Instead of the scallop circle focal point I stamped the star from the Something to Say stamp set and cut it out to make it larger.
Join the fun! Create your own card based on the CPC sketch and post it over at Craft Project Central.
The more the merrier! Include CPC 38 in the name of the card. You may even win a free month subscription!
Great job on your card, and I love that sentiment. Thanks for participating in the sketch challenge!
