About Me

My Picture from Mary KayI’ve been an Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator since 2010.  I am a “hobby demonstrator.”  I am addicted to the products, sharing creativity, and getting together with friends, new and old.  I joined Stampin’ Up! for the discount and sell to others to help support my habit.

Email me.

I grew up in Whittier, a suburb on the southeast edge of LA county.  I married a tall handsome surfer who grew up in the same town.  We moved to Santa Cruz, California for my husband to attend the university there.  When he graduated I took my turn.  His job took us to Anchorage, Alaska.  I loved the summers (both weeks!) and I’m glad we had those 8 years there to make wonderful memories.  But the winters were long and dark.  I really appreciate living in Camarillo, California!

I am a mother of 2 grown children.  I love that my son lives in Camarillo with his bride and their two children. My daughter lives in San Diego.  I’m glad she and my 2 grandchildren are close enough for a day trip, but I sure wish they lived closer!

I am a retired teacher and love continuing to teach at my Stampin’ Up! workshops.

My husband and I have been volunteer puppy-raisers for Guide Dogs of America (GDA).  They are always looking for puppy-raisers!  One of our puppies, Kili, is one of the Golden puppies shown in this link: Post by Elex Michaelson. We currently have three black labs in our house. Newman is our designated pet. Bud, a retired GDA stud (yes, Bud the Stud) is enjoying his retirement as our pet. We have realized that two big dogs is enough for our modest home. We don’t currently have a guide dog puppy, but I believe there will be one in our future.

I am a member of the Pleasant Valley Garden Club and enjoy tending my garden. Click here for my gardening blog. I have not been maintaining that blog, but perhaps you’ll find something helpful there.

  1. I learned more about you. I have never known you to be a slob. You surely are organized now, and your generosity in sharing you organizational files is so great. Thank you.

    • Thanks, Karen. I was definitely a slob most of my life. I think I started to get a handle on organization until about 20 years ago. Baby steps have helped to get me where I am.

  2. Hi Bev, I am impressed with your website setup. I am so illiterate in getting my website and blog going. There are things I need to learn to do but just can’t get started.
If you are ever in the Phoenix (AZ) area, maybe we could get together here at my home and you can help me. Compensation will be granted.
Thanks for your great ideas on organization.

    • Jane, I don’t anticipate a trip to Phoenix, but if you’re in Ventura County, CA, let me know. I also see you are planning to go to convention. Maybe we can meet up there.

In the meantime, I’m doing my best to share what I can online. Keep watching. I am starting a Techy Tips page, so keep checking back. You may also want to subscribe so I can email you when I’ve posted something new.

  3. Hi Bev, I love your website! Your video demonstrating your Christmas Card using stamp set O Come all Ye Faithful was great! The card is beautiful! I will definitely be visiting your website regularly. I would love to be able to attend one of your classes but, since I live in Canada it’s not possible. So I will just have to keep visiting your website
    Happy Stamping. Eleanor

    • How very sweet Eleanor! I’d love for you to stop by! It’s not that far. 🙂 In the meantime, I’m happy to have you visit my website as often as you like. If you need a demonstrator in Canada, I’m sure I could put you in touch with one.

  4. WOW! Just WOW! Where have you been all my life??? Really! I’m a retired teacher too (Private Piano in my home studio until retirement 3 years ago) That Music Studio is now my Stampin Up Studio. I have been a demo for nearly 3 years. I have found it very frustrating to keep track of all the products as they come and go! Well, now I know exactly who to look to, although I need a LOT of techy lessons!
I found you on Stampin Connection searching for Excel and/or Evernote users. Thank you for your Techy advice! I’ll try not to “stalk” you but just know that you are now my FAVORITE person in the whole world right now!!! LOL

    • I wish I had anything close to a studio. You’ll have to take a look at my craft corner tour sometime.
I don’t mind stalkers as long as they’re happy crafters. 🙂

  5. Just found your website on You Tube. I’m so impressed. Thank you so much for your organizing techniques. I’ve been stamping since 2013. Absolutely love it. I’m from Fairbanks, AK. I’ve been here for 27 years. We now winter in Florida. My brother lived in San Jose for 45 years and recently moved to Pleasanton to escape the crazy traffic there.

  6. Hi Bev!
I could have sworn that you used to have the Case Inserts for the Paper Pumpkin sets! Am I imagining things?
If you could help me find them, it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

  8. Hi Bev, I purchased the “try it” version of your Evernote notebook yesterday and got confirmation from PayPal for the payment, but haven’t received anything else. This is the only way I could see on the website to contact you so I apologize if this isn’t the correct place. Could you let me know if I need to do anything else to receive your file? Thank you.

  9. Hi Bev, I’m a hobby demonstrator too. I retired 7 years ago from an administrative position in a school district on Long Island in New York. My husband and I bought a winter house in an active over 55 community in Florida and we went back and forth for a few years. We liked Florida so much that we sold the NY house and live here full time. I joined the card making group at the HOA where we live. I’ve been doing it for about 4 – 5 years and have bought a lot of the older stamps on a Facebook site. I really needed some organization and I wish I saw your site before I started. We definitely think alike. I made numbered inserts for all my cases with a a picture of the stamp/die and put some sample cards. Then I got a copy of Ever Note to create a database. I’m not proficient in Ever Note but was able to add a note for each Stamp Bundle, Stamp Set, Die Set, Embossing Folder. I’m currently adding all my DSP. I would love to follow you on Facebook to learn more. Kathy Hart

    • I share my Evernote notebooks. You can read all about that here. https://bevadams.com/evernote-current-products/ I’ve also got some videos there. I do have a Facebook group, but it’s just for the others sharing the notebook so I can get messages out or answer questions when needed. I’ve sent you an email with this information to be sure you receive it.

  10. I have tried and tried to get the Gold Dipped Mix & Match Specialty Cards & Envelopes directions and the computer keeps saying the page can not be found. Would you be willing to send them to me? Thanks so much – they’re beautiful cards.
